BRENDA J WATSON, A MIXED-MEDIA ARTIST

The media that I use include pencil, oil, acrylic, and photography. My work is inspired by human experiences and nature. The art that I create mostly happens in my New York City and Martha's Vineyard studios, but it is primarily shown on the Vineyard.

Omo Valley Young Man of Feathers

Acrylic painting on clay.

This was my first drawing and painting on an uneven surface. It was a challenge that I truly enjoyed. As with all of my paintings on clay, it has a very detailed etched feel to it.

Several individuals who were the first to see this work, have described it as 'museum quality.'

This artwork was featured as the lead introduction to a printed version of an interview, focused on my artwork, that I participated in the end of 2019. It was conducted by DESTIG, an international art and travel magazine located in London. DESTIG's 2020 magazine was to be printed and distirbuted in January, but was halted by the pandemic. In addition to featuring several artist, Seattle, Washington was the featured travel destination and unfortunately one of the first areas of the US to be hit hard by the pandemic.
